– Dionisis Sotovikis was born in Athens in 1970. Between 1991 and 1996, he studied Architecture at the Architectural Association (AA) in London, under professors such as David Racz, David Turnbull, and Kisa Kawakami. At the same time, he traveled around Europe, America, and Iceland, where he completed his thesis, which was awarded the 2nd Prize by TEE in 1997. Since 1999, continuing a three-generation family tradition in the field of construction, he runs his own architectural practice in Athens and, in 2004, he created his WORKSHOP, a space for creation and exhibition. Since 2015, he serves as a board member of the Hellenic Institute of Architecture. He has designed and implemented a multitude of projects all across Greece and abroad, in a wide spectrum of fields and in different textures and scales. During the past few years, he became actively involved with the design and construction of hotels. At the same time, he is publishing “Themata”, an annual review on architecture, art, and all aspects of human creative expression, in an effort to showcase the constant points of reference that remain unaltered in time.
